I've still got a lot of weeks left in my study abroad period, but somehow only three weeks left of classes. I have no idea how that happened.
I was sitting here planning trips around Ireland tonight, and all of a sudden it kind of clicked in my head that there isn't much time left for weekend trips. Courtney and Alice seem to want to visit Europe during the entire rest of term, which means that any Ireland visits need to happen soon.
I really would like to visit a lot of Europe, but I think that perhaps this semester is not the best time. Yeah, I'm already here, but I don't have very much money for all the traveling expenses and hostels and food and everything. Plus, all of the places I have written down that I can't leave without seeing are in the U.K. or Ireland...so I would rather focus on spending time there. I'll gladly see some of Europe, but most of it can wait until I have a real job and can travel with more security.
To try and see more of Ireland, I was thinking about making my trip to Rosslare to catch the ferry when I go to visit Martha and Jack into a longer hike--there are several cities along the way which I would like to visit and since I have to go all the way across the country anyway, I might as well take a breather and see the scenery. Also, I might be going on the Archaeology Society's field trip in April, which would bring me all around Wales. There's just so much to do and I'm only one person to do it all--I'll have to plan to come back here as much as possible the rest of my life!
I guess that was kind of my mood most of today. My bajillion classes today were good, and I looked up a dozen publishing internships that I could apply to in case none of the anthropology ones work out. I didn't get any work done on my Castles paper, but I did crack down on some of my reading for King Arthur. We're about to start getting in to the well-known material now, so I finally will have an idea what to expect! The medieval Welsh King Arthur was very different than the one we know now, let's just say...
My roommate and her two friends are out partying right now, but they'll be back later to crash here overnight before getting up and starting it again. I am going to bed soon so I can catch some sleep before their return, so homework will have to wait until tomorrow! Here's hoping that I can get lots done then.
So on that tired note, good night.

Hi! Dad mailed your package this morning. They told him it would get to Ireland in about 4 days but they couldn't tell him how long it would take for it to reach Galway. So, be on the lookout for it. I hope the baked goods aren't all mush by the time they get there. I guess you'll have to make a list of all the places you don't get to and put them on the list for future trips. If only things were free!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day tomorrow.
Love you,
