Must be Getting Old

Once again, I forgot to blog last night.

I didn't remember until the American girls came in drunk and screaming and woke us all up, but at that point I just wanted to go back to sleep more than I wanted to get up and write about my day. So I got up early instead!

Anyway, Wednesday was good. My classes were the same as usual, although when my Vikings professor was talking about the Archaeology Society meeting from Tuesday, he looked right at me and said that he'd seen some of us there. It was noteworthy because the classes here are so large that that is the most professor-student interaction I've had so far. Crazy.

My Irish professor delved off on several tangents before getting back on topic...which meant that with only 20 minutes left in the two hour class, he realized that he hadn't taught us any Irish. It was still really interesting though--only 8 of us showed up, so we pelted him with questions the whole time about topics ranging from Celtic mythology to an explanation of the politics in Northern Ireland. It wasn't what we were supposed to learn, but it was nice to finally have someone sit down and answer all of mine (and everyone else's questions) about that without making me feel stupid. So overall, productive.

Besides that, I did some homework, heard from a bunch of relatives, and found out that I was turned down from another internship. This one is almost the same as the one that I really really want, so now I doubt if I'll get that one. It'll be a miracle if any of them take me. Guess it's another summer at the mall. Ugh.

Thursday is just a normal day, although I will be studying in the library for part of it and then going with Alice to check out tattoos (for her, not me). Then back for class with Kicki Ingridsdotter, rock climbing, and maybe pubbing. Oy vey.

So for the sake of last night, good night.

  1. Recieved your letter. It was very newsy and fun to read. I'm still working at the webcam but at this rate, you'll be home before it starts working again. Your classes sound so interesting. I can't remember anything like that when I went. :( It sounds like you and the Irish girls in your suite are getting along fine. Have they tried peanut butter and fluff snadwiches yet? I hope we can talk over the weekend. Have a great day and read a Dr. Suess book.

    Love you,
    Mom
