Last night's game night lasted so long that my roommate was already in bed when I got home, so I had to wait to post until now.
That said, game night at Miriam and Jackie's was great. We ended up with 11 people there, including a Spanish exchange student, a bunch of Americans, and several Irish students. We started with Apples to Apples, which a lot of them had never played before; it was especially funny because a lot of them were tipsy from a "gin bucket" that someone passed around. That game lasted us for several hours, then we played things like the Hand Game, Black Magic, and Wolves and Villagers.
The rest of the day was good too. I was in such a good mood that I kept bouncing whenever I was walking or sitting in class. I've no idea why--I really should be stressed about finals, but maybe that hasn't sunk in yet?!
My Castles class is having a field trip this Saturday, so I need to turn in money today to pay for the bus and lunch. We're going to visit a bunch of sites, including Clonmacnoise, which I really wanted to go see on my own anyway...this trip just gives me a way to get there! I'm also planning on turning in a deposit for the Archaeology Society's Wales trip so I can go on that 6-day trip. We'll be visiting lots of castles and archaeology sites around the country, and if I get to visit Martha and Jack I might be able to see some that are on the edges of the country too.
Alice, Courtney, and I started discussing what we want to do for traveling after finals, but we're waiting to see when Martha and Jack would like me to visit so we can start booking hostels and shtuff. I'm really pushing the U.K. parts, but we'll see what happens.
I finally went grocery shopping yesterday and also picked up some shamrock socks and a green hat for tomorrow. I have a feeling that it's going to be crazy around here tonight and tomorrow...and that class attendance will be minimal Thursday morning. I'm just excited to see the parade in town!
I guess that's all from Monday. Good morning!

We are continuing to use your blog as a teaching tool. We were talking about tides so I showed them the ferry at low tide. We have also talked about land forms so the photos of cliffs, beaches, plains, ocean, etc. have meshed well with the photos you have posted. Thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to your post St. Pat's entry. I'm sure you'll have some interesting things to share.
Love you,
Mom
