Long Day Anyway

So today was my first Tuesday without chorus...I really didn't miss it at all. I don't like not having music at college, but band is so much better! I'll wait until marching band season happens again to make up for it.

I still was out of the house until 8 p.m. because Alice and I decided to walk in to the city to check out this jewelry shop we found on Sunday. She bought some earrings and I got two Celtic rings (so pretty!), and then we hung out in the city for two hours until she needed to go to rock climbing.

During our crazy wanderings, we went to eat supper at Supermac's, which is kind of the Irish version of McDonald's. So far, we haven't gone there because it's still fast food, but we braved it tonight and got some. After my meal, I was stuffed...and then we split a dessert muffin with ice cream. Basically, I'm ridiculously full right now and have been avoiding the kitchen all night so I don't eat anything else!

So now I know what that's like. Delicious. We also found a T.K.Maxx, which is the Irish version of T.J.Maxx. That amuses me to no end. We might go back soon so Alice can find a handbag, but I'd like to keep exploring that end of town--I'd never been down that way before.

Now, normally on Shop Street there is at least one musician playing for donations, and often there are two or three of them as you continue walking down the street. Today's was an accordian player--I was about to add an exclamation point, but it's sad that they have to ask for money. It was cool to see someone who knew how to play the accordian, though.

The rest of my day was good. I had four classes; the only significant event was that the midterm assignment was handed out in King Arthur class. I have to write a 1000-word essay that's due on March 1st, summarizing one of six articles that he handed out earlier or that can be found in one of the suggested readings. I haven't decided which one I'm going to do yet, but I really should get on that. I'll have to be careful about planning time for the assignment since I won't be home to work on it this weekend.

Besides that, classes are still pretty normal in all the other subjects. I have picked the topics for the two final papers that I know about so far, and just need to start researching them and then composing the essays. I'd really like to get that done before the end of the semester so I can travel without stressing about them.

So for tonight, I'm going to go read my book in bed and then get some sleep for tomorrow. Good night!
