Well hello! I'm finally back in Galway--it feels wonderful. The past two weeks were crazy, and I figured I'd rather wait until I could sit down for a couple of days and sort through pictures before posting so everything can go up in order. I'll probably start posting from Wales and the UK tomorrow.
As for today, it was pretty good. I got back at about 8:30 a.m. from traveling, but I slept a bit on the bus to Galway and in the Dublin Airport (where the Belfast bus dropped us off). After wearing the same clothes for four days, it was an enormous pleasure to come home, take a long shower, and throw everything I owned in the washing machine. Pity the dryer broke, but my room sure looks festive with all of these clothes hanging everywhere to dry!
I have the first of my last two final exams tomorrow morning, so I spent some time looking at the questions for that. I only have to write two essays for it, and will have two hours to do so. We've already got the questions, so I am not too worried (knock on wood). I really need to start memorizing stuff for my Friday exam, though, since there I have to write three essays and it's a lot more detailed.
We had our weekly API meeting tonight, and it turns out that although there were originally 13 or us stuck in random European countries, now there are only 6 still waiting for flights or trying to find alternative transportation. One of those six is Jackie, the annoying American who lives across the hall. I empathize, but am slightly happy for the quiet that it means I get here instead...a pretty mean thing to say, really. She leaves for the U.S. next week, so the quiet will be ensured.
I have so many stories to write about, but will save them for the posts for each day of traveling so I don't confuse you and myself. For now, I'm going to go to sleep, since I've only slept for about two hours at a time the past two nights (just wait until I tell you about trying to stay awake while sitting outside on a bench at 3 a.m., getting picked up by the police so we wouldn't freeze, napping in an airport...). Good night!
