First there was a lecture about the history of the area, then a tour of Galway City. We ended up at St. Nicholas Church (that's the pictures below), where the lecturer talked some more.
During the talk, the lecturer mentioned this cemetery at Forthill. These two girls from API that I met went with me around the city. Since we are all doing archaeology, we didn't mind the dead people, but the two French girls that were with us didn't see why we thought it was pretty. The three of us, however, have decided to travel together during breaks so we can see archaeological sites and to try to take some classes together. Finally, friends!
Some views around the city.
This is the top of the mural from the pictures I put up yesterday.
After all this, Alice, Courtney, and I (the 3 APGs) met up at 9 to go to a pub. However, unlike the people I went with before, we went for the music and ended up getting seats right next to the live band. Since they only had one beer each, there was no problem with sobriety and it was actually fun. Except for this random guy trying to buy me drinks. But overall, a good day. I'd love to write more...but it's very early in the morning here (2:15 a.m.), and I'd love sleep. So good night!
Yay for fun in Pubs without drunk people!
ReplyDeleteFor some reason I can't comment on your other posts. So I'm apparently going to be living vicariously through you while you're in Ireland since I don't have any study abroad plans of my own ;) You'll have to let me know what email you're using so I can bug you more often!
ReplyDeleteJessica, your mom sent out your blog address...and I went on by way of mine, and I think I have become a follower, so if you're wondering who one of your anon. followers is, it's your old English teacher. I thought I was just signing on to get to your blog--oops.
ReplyDeleteI have read through all your posts and enjoyed your pictures. I have always wanted to go to Ireland so I will be enjoying your trip in case I never get there.
Enjoy and experience! Ms. Bassette
